US tax guidance · health expenses
Medical treatment differs from general wellness
A flexible spending account (FSA) and a health savings account (HSA) each hold money for eligible health expenses.
The IRS, the US tax agency, says in its September 2026 guidance that spending solely to improve general health does not qualify as medical care. Treatment for a disease a doctor has diagnosed can qualify.
Ask the company that manages your account to confirm whether this specific expense qualifies. This is a general rule, not a finding that a BPC-157 expense qualifies.
